Setup & Care

Setting up your drop stitch pool

  1. Check the rules. In Queensland, a pool that can hold 300mm or more of water needs a compliant pool safety barrier and QBCC registration. All four of our sizes are over 300mm, so sort this out before you fill.
  2. Choose the spot. Pick firm, level ground that is clear of sharp objects, has good drainage and is close to power. Don't set a filled pool on a deck, balcony or raised slab unless a qualified professional has confirmed it can take the load. Keep it clear of anything children could use to climb the fence.
  3. Unroll and inflate. Lay out the pool and inflate the walls with the included electric air pump to the pressure in the manual. There's no frame and no tools.
  4. Connect the sand filter. Attach the hoses to the pool fittings as the manual shows.
  5. Fill and balance. Fill with water, start the filter and balance the water chemistry.
  6. Get your water tested. Bring a sample to Chemex Pools, 116 Edith St, Innisfail for free testing.

Everyday care

  • Run the sand filter daily and backwash as the manual describes.
  • Test and balance the water regularly. Standard pool chemicals, magnesium and mineral systems can all be used. Follow the dosing instructions on the product.
  • Pick up 50% off a chemical starter kit when you collect your pool from Chemex Pools.
  • Check the wall pressure now and then, especially after big temperature changes.
  • Patch small punctures with the included repair kit. For anything bigger, email us.
  • Keep the water clear enough that you can always see the bottom.

Pool covers available made to order. Ask us in store or by email.

Packing away

  1. Drain the pool.
  2. Clean the inside and outside.
  3. Let it dry completely.
  4. Deflate the walls.
  5. Fold and store it in a shed or garage until next season.

Safety, always

  • A fence doesn't replace active adult supervision.
  • Keep gates closed and never prop them open.
  • Remove or secure the ladder when the pool isn't in use.
  • A pool cover is not a safety barrier.
  • Learn CPR and keep emergency details handy.
